Pay it Forward: Desert Shadows

Hello Everyone,

Thanks for reading as usual. I wanted to add this here as well as my other social media posts so it will reach as much of an audience as possible. Hopefully Pay it Forward.

Several years ago I was admitted into Tucson Medical Center for a severe medical condition. I spent my fair share of days and nights in there. The staff was very nice to me and took care of me and now that things have been going do good for me I am in a position to pay it forward.

B2M – Book 2 Movie

Hello Everyone,

I know it might look strange or to modern texting type language to be using the (2) in the middle of Books 2 Movies, but it is the more common form of writing this. Just like B2B in business to business. Anyways back to the point, books to movies.

What it is-Book 2 Movie:

Well what it is, is exactly what it says. It is when a book is turned into a movie. Sometimes this works great for the book and sometimes it hurts it. Sometimes it turns out to be a great film but people don’t like the book. And nowadays we have seen the rise of video games to movies also which has been very successful. Sanctuary

Hello Everyone,

Well as usual I was writing along and doing some research after my day job and in the background I had a movie on. I often do this to break up the silence of thought and allow my mind to drift away from time to time on the regular work I am doing. I find it also helpful to break away from the zone of writing and therefore it allows me to free my mind a little and think about other topics or other possibilities in my writing. Dracula Museum

Hello Everyone,

As many of you may recall I did a whole month or two long segment about vampires. Why? Because the fascinate me. Not so much the actual creature but the myth, legend, origins, or truth behind the tales.

When we think vampires we often think blood sucking, bat morphing, creatures of the night with a hint of seduction in most tales. If I asked any of you to name a vampire, of course maybe not the Twilight crowd, many of you would say Dracula as your immediate response. Trust me I asked a few people and this was the results. Dracula or the main character from Twilight was what came up and it was a generation difference in the answers. Happy Labor Day

Hello Everyone,

First off, Happy Labor Day. I hope everyone is having a good day whether or not you are one of those who are fortunate to have it off or someone who has to unfortunately work today. But at least both groups can be appreciative that we have a job in this rough employment era.

I know many people will be Barbecuing and other fun stuff like that but some of us will simply take the time to relax and do nothing. Those are my plans but everything sometimes changes at the spur of the moment. We’ll see.

Reflecting: Another Writer’s Block

Hello Everyone,

Well, it was about reflecting on the past this time . As some of you know that from time to time I like to touch base on some of the topics that come up in my writing journey. Most often it has been about writer’s block and once again it is. Only a little different in some of the specifics because it has to do with reflecting on the first book.

What Happened?

Well so there I was, a week or so after submitting the second book to the publisher, just waiting to hear how the new assessment comes out. I get a response form the editor that there are a few issues. Great, I love the insight and the ability to touch base on a few things before the overall adjustments before editing become overwhelming. Who wouldn’t be? Right?

Mazes and Trails: The Likeness I Find in Them

Hello Everyone,

Once again I went and wrote something a little philosophical but it is a break from the other stuff for me and allows me to free my mind. In writing you never can tell how much of a story has a secret underlying message. We often use these metaphors or likenesses to create something that relates to an audience but also ourselves. This is kind of what I got last week with the walls but this week it’s trails and mazes.

Love Stories can be Eerie

Hello Everyone,

So just the other day I was watching a movie and realized how much of a plot a love story can create. Also how many of the either eerie or scary movies involve a love story. That made me think about how many actually do have love stories or as part of the plot.

Some Classics:

First of all most of the old fantasy movies that many of us have grown up with like Sleeping Beauty, Beauty and the Beast, or Cinderella all have this love as part of the plot for the story. However they also have the villains and despair inside the movie or the book that helps create part of the tale. It’s almost as if the story line would seem ‘too’ every day or normal to us if the characters did not also have a villain in the mix.

Back to the Subject of Bugs

Hello Everyone,

I know I’ve talked about bugs before and more than once. The thing is, is that they often appear in horror movies or scary tales. We will see the worms crawling out of an upturned corpse or the spiders crawling up a wall but the truth of the matter is we do find these bugs more often than not in those places we already dread to venture. However in today’s blog post I want to talk about something else that concerns bugs. Swarms.

Desert Mirages or Just Mirages

Hello Everyone,

Well to get things started I had to change the title around but I decided not to change most of the body of the subject because it was, well, already done. Mirages don’t just occur in the desert so that’s why I decided to change it around. So the topic at hand is mirages and as usual the weirdness or eeriness that they inspire is many of us.

What is a Mirage?

Well to get started it is an optical illusion to some degree. It is something that the natural eye sees but is not there in the sense of it not being what it appears to be. We are in fact seeing the heat waves and most often the light waves that are distorted from the observer’s location.
