Hello Everyone,

Because the last haunted place was somewhere other than the United States or Europe I decided to keep it out of those two places again. At least for now. So we are going to discuss the Valley of the Kings today.

What I like about this haunted location is that often times people forget that it is in fact a form of a cemetery but more so a different type of burial ground. Still, it is a place where those who were deceased were laid to rest.

Often times we do not view these locations that have a high historical significance or and archaeological significance to be a form of graveyard. When in fact that is exactly what they are. We just forget that sometimes with the hype of the new discoveries and the claims to fame from those that discover it.

Hello Everyone,

Well another haunted place is here and once again it is a cemetery. Wanted to change it up a little bit so that’s why I chose to do one outside of America and Europe where it seems that many of the haunted places have been. La Recoleta is found in a little place called South America.

La Recoleta:

First off I know that South America is by no means small, just a little humor.

La Recoleta is more precisely situated in Buenos Aires, Argentina. Once again, not a small place at all. Buenos Aires is home to more than 2.9 million people and has a growing economy with tourism, industrial and commercial factors contributing. However, that is not what we are concentrating on. We want to hear about the cemetery, don’t we?

La Recoleta Cemetery is named for the neighborhood by the same name that it is located Continue reading

Hello Everyone,

As many of my southeastern Arizona followers know, Boot Hill is the famous cemetery just outside of Tombstone, Arizona. This cemetery is famous for its notable tombstones that share both humorous messages and also some eerie pasts.

What Boot Hill?

Well as it turns out, there are numerous “Boot Hill” cemeteries across the western parts of the United States of America. This is because it was a common saying for the burial grounds of gunfighters that were more prone to be living in these parts.

The term basically means that they died with their boots on.

Tombstone’s Boot Hill, a little History:

First off, the cemetery was not always in the location that we know it to be today. The cemetery was relocated to the current area in 1884 and is the resting place of over 250 people. This included everyone at the time. It could be the Continue reading

Hello Everyone,

Because the holidays are rapidly approaching and Halloween is behind us it seems that there may be nothing eerie left to talk about. Don’t worry, I have some good topics that are relevant. Until then I am going to discuss some other topics but also concentrate on another segment. A segment that will include the Howard Street Cemetery.

What, where, why?

Well, I hope you can all tell that Howard Street Cemetery is in fact a cemetery because it is in the name. The “why” should also be fairly predictable by now, because it’s haunted. Now a very interesting and eerie fact about the cemetery is the location. A location that resides in the United States of America and is famous for its eerie past. That place my dear friends is Salem, Massachusetts.

Howard Street Cemetery Eerie Past:

So many of us know about the Salem Witch Trials Continue reading

Hello Everyone,

Omens and Foretelling are like peas and a pod. First off, the definition of an omen is pretty much and event regarded as a portent of good or evil. Some type of psychic vision into the future. Foretelling is just one in the same.

Foretelling is pretty much defined as the ability to predict the future or to predict the future. It does not have to be a consistent thing and can be one individual moment. Just had to clarify that, because I try hard not to confuse anyone as much as possible in my odd style of writing.

Although we hear about them a lot together they are in fact different. An omen is pretty much foretelling is something good or bad is going to happen. They are usually not very distinct in what they mean. Foretelling on the other hand is usually the actually seeing or Continue reading

Hello Everyone,

Well almost done. This haunted place and one more. This one I keep wanting to call “Castle of Greyskull” but I know the real name is Greystone Park Psychiatric Center. So hopefully that won’t confuse anyone, maybe I shouldn’t have put it out there like that but it was one my mind.

History of Greystone Park Psychiatric Center:

The construction started in 1871, in New Jersey, was completed in 1876. The building was originally designed to house 350 inmates but as we have seen in previous posts that’s not how it went. Greystone Park Psychiatric Center eventually housed over 7,000 inmates when it was at its peak.

The hospital itself was designed to help with the overflow of other hospitals and to relieve the overcrowding of them. The hospital was used in films and some other historical events. The hospital is no longer in operation ever since it Continue reading

Hello Everyone,

Well once again thank you for taking the time to read another post of mine about a haunted place. Once again it is a hospital and this time it’s Essex County Hospital Center. Or as some call it, Essex County Insane Asylum.

A Little History:

Essex County Hospital Center was built in 1896. The purpose of the hospital might come as a shock to you. Although it was obviously a hospital for the mentally ill it was primarily built to house the overflow of mentally ill from other hospitals in the area.

Built in the Township of Cedar Grove, New Jersey the hospital served through many rough times. Unfortunately those who were there were the ones who paid the costs. That is until the hospital shut down in 2003 when a new hospital was opened.

Dark Times at Essex County Hospital Center:

There are two very particular instances Continue reading

Hello Everyone,

Yes I know I drifted away a little from the haunted places over the last month but that was to concentrate on the Halloween Holiday. So once again here we are and the haunted place today is the Hudson River State Hospital.

Hudson River State Hospital:

The hospital was opened in 1871 and served its purpose as a hospital for the purposes of psychiatric care. It first 40 patients were admitted then but the construction was far from complete as the hospital grew over the next 25 years. The hospital seemed to slow down gradually with its treatments over the next century because new means of care were introduced and thus eliminated the larger buildings such as the Hudson River State Hospital.

The hospital which still stands in New York was sold to an unnamed buyer when the hospital closed its doors. The gothic design of the hospital Continue reading

Hello Everyone,

Well, even though I could on about Halloween I don’t want to get o off the subject of this series of blogs and that is the haunted places. Haunted places like the Middletown State Homeopathic Hospital.

Middletown:

First of all, Middletown is the city in New York where the hospital is located. Kind of interesting to see that so many of these hospitals and asylums for the insane are on the east coast but also how many of them are in New York.

While construction began in 1870 after the decision was made to create a facility for the mentally ill in 1866, the hospital did not open until 1874. When it first opened it had only 69 patients. But as time as shown us over the course of these hospitals and the blogs is that the number grows substantially larger every time. By the turn of the Continue reading

Hello Everyone,

Well, I try to stay put on a certain criteria for my blogs from one month to the other but something came up that I wanted to elaborate on. A hawk’s cry.

Why?

I was walking outside and doing some work when I stumbled across a rock in the desert. For those of you who do not know much about where I live, I live on a large acreage of land in southeastern Arizona. It is desert but lush and full of life at the same time.

But back to the story the rock is no ordinary rock. It is a rock that is not normally found around these parts because it was something that we brought in years ago for decoration. The interesting thing about the rock was its placement. It is placed outside of our general yard area and sits alone among the many brownish and Continue reading
