Hello Everyone,

Welcome to the Stonehenge Disappearance. The last in my several week long blog posts about disappearing people or anything for that matter. As I previously mentioned this one has a little bit of a twist “for me” because it is something that will relate to the characters in my future books in the “Desert Shadows” series. So pay attention because you might learn some interesting and eerie history not only about a disappearance but also about Stonehenge.

Where, When, Who:

The “where” is obviously Stonehenge, hence the title. The “when” is sometime in 1971. The “who,” is a group of “hippies” that decided to go camping at Stonehenge. Their names are; Julia Aston, Lucas Addams, Wilma Rupert, Shary Wilson Jr., and Danniel Wilson. All of whom were never heard from again after that fateful night.

The Event:

Okay, I know I’ve mentioned it before but there’s something about Continue reading

Hello Everyone,

First off, Happy Labor Day. I hope everyone is having a good day whether or not you are one of those who are fortunate to have it off or someone who has to unfortunately work today. But at least both groups can be appreciative that we have a job in this rough employment era.

I know many people will be Barbecuing and other fun stuff like that but some of us will simply take the time to relax and do nothing. Those are my plans but everything sometimes changes at the spur of the moment. We’ll see.

Labor Day History:

Labor Day was first officially established in North America in 1887. This was of course after years of individual states, provinces, or other regions of designation proposed it or started recognizing it. That means that certain states in the United States, like Oregon, were places that had the Continue reading

Hello Everyone,

I know I’ve mentioned it before but something always stirs in me this time of year when the seasons begin to change.

I know it’s not a drastic change, as of yet, but where I live when you stop reaching temperatures in the 100s it is a nice respite from the other 6 months of the year. The nights are what gets me. The cool air comes in a little quicker and compared to summer, the cool air actually comes in at night. But also there is the earlier sunsets. That rush to do things before the light fades away from the horizon when just a week ago you had what seemed like so much more time.

I guess that’s why they call it Daylight Savings Time.

The Mood of the Seasons:

The mood that people get in where I live becomes much more lighthearted. The hot temperatures Continue reading

Hello Everyone,

Well, it was about reflecting on the past this time . As some of you know that from time to time I like to touch base on some of the topics that come up in my writing journey. Most often it has been about writer’s block and once again it is. Only a little different in some of the specifics because it has to do with reflecting on the first book.

What Happened?

Well so there I was, a week or so after submitting the second book to the publisher, just waiting to hear how the new assessment comes out. I get a response form the editor that there are a few issues. Great, I love the insight and the ability to touch base on a few things before the overall adjustments before editing become overwhelming. Who wouldn’t be? Right?

The editor wanted me to reflect on Continue reading

Hello Everyone,

First off many people or reports that relate to Owen Parfitt’s disappearance use a different title. I prefer this one because of its kinder nature to the missing person involved. Also, for any of you who have really been following me for the past several weeks on these disappearances then I would like to inform you or something. The last blog on this subject will also help to be an insight into the world of “Desert Shadows” when the time comes for the proper book in the series to reveal itself. It won’t give anything away but will allow you to understand a little of the historical or prior myth and back story that I do apply to my books.

Now back to the main topic of discussion. Owen. Well as many of you know some of the tales have been debunked or at least people have claimed Continue reading

Hello Everyone,

Once again I went and wrote something a little philosophical but it is a break from the other stuff for me and allows me to free my mind. In writing you never can tell how much of a story has a secret underlying message. We often use these metaphors or likenesses to create something that relates to an audience but also ourselves. This is kind of what I got last week with the walls but this week it’s trails and mazes.

Mazes and Trails:

So once again I was at work today and thinking or lost in train of thought I guess I might say. I was walking through the desert trying to figure out my path in between cacti, trees, rocks or any surfaces that may be too much to climb up.

While walking, I remembered something from my past that had a lot to do Continue reading

Hello Everyone,

Well I’m still on the disappearances thing. At least for a couple more when I’m not being all nostalgic. This time it’s a tunnel. The Lincoln Tunnel.

And this time it’s also a matter of time, so to speak.

The Lincoln Tunnel:

The Lincoln Tunnel opened in 1937 that connects New Jersey to New York via underneath the massive weight of the Hudson River. It is roughly 1.5 miles long.

To me the walls still creak with the weight and fluidity of the river waiting for the right moment to push down on the drivers inside. It might sound a little bit morbid but those were the thoughts I had. At least a few times while traversing the tunnel when I was younger with my grandparents. I prefer the George Washington bridge myself to get from point A to B.

The Mysteries:

One couple was driving Continue reading

Hello Everyone,

It’s about walls. I know this blog is about a something different and off the subject from the normal type of stuff that I talk about, so bear with me.

So for the job that I do, there are often times where I cannot perform my function. Whether it be due to the rain or lightning which make it more dangerous considering the fact that I work around electricity.

So what about walls?

So, I sat there waiting for the storm to pass over the other day in my truck. I was listening to the flood advisories coming through on my phone and stayed parked on higher ground out of the roadways. Right next to a brick wall. I noticed that the ground was flooding next to the brick wall. The roadway was also running and the rain was pouring down on the hood of Continue reading

Hello Everyone,

So just the other day I was watching a movie and realized how much of a plot a love story can create. Also how many of the either eerie or scary movies involve a love story. That made me think about how many actually do have love stories or as part of the plot.

Some Classics:

First of all most of the old fantasy movies that many of us have grown up with like Sleeping Beauty, Beauty and the Beast, or Cinderella all have this love as part of the plot for the story. However they also have the villains and despair inside the movie or the book that helps create part of the tale. It’s almost as if the story line would seem ‘too’ every day or normal to us if the characters did not also have a villain in the mix.

Sleeping Beauty had Maleficent.

Cinderella Continue reading

Hello Everyone,

Well I was writing some stuff this week and had another little episode of writer’s block. Sometimes we find ourselves wanting to write but not knowing how to initially approach it. Seldom do I get writer’s block so when I do I like to post how I overcome my episodes.

When the Initial Kick-off isn’t there:

Well sometimes I can just sit down and begin to write. Not everything I write will make it into one of my books or blogs or whatever but I have a jumping off point to begin with. Most of the time this is me. I have a general idea that I start writing with and then elaborate on it or will do some research afterwards to enhance the subject material, or to strengthen the plot. Depends of course on what I am doing. But sometimes I need to write and then when Continue reading
