Eerie for Thoughts: Brown Mountain Lights

Hello Everyone,

 

Well first off, sorry about not getting this out sooner on Monday like I usually do. Been busy. However, I do want to continue my segment about the mysterious an eerie lights that people report in different areas. This week is the Brown Mountain Lights.

 

Brown Mountain Lights:

 

The sightings occur near Brown Mountain in North Carolina. Just above the horizon is where the reports say that the Brown Mountain Lights can be seen. Early reports date back as far as 1913 but USGS employees deemed it that the lights were mistaken for something else. In most cases the trains that went through the area or even vehicles. Some even report that this is random campfires.

Eerie for Thoughts: Paulding Light

Hello Everyone,

Out of the eerie lights I have discussed so far this one seems to have had an investigation that brought it closer to being explained. Maybe it’s because it wasn’t reported until later in the last century when cars, planes and other modern “lighted” objects were more relevant. But to me the Paulding Light still captures a little bit of eeriness.

Paulding Light:

The Paulding Light gets its name from the town nearby of Paulding, Michigan. The mysterious and often ghostly appearance has been reported since the 1960s. However, unlike many of the other eerie, unexplained lights we discuss, the Paulding Light was first observed when traffic in the area was heavy or in some cases already existed.

Mythical Creatures: Thunderbird

Hello Everyone,

Well here we go, first of the blogs with some sort of a different direction and since the overcast today was reminding of rain, I decided to touch base on the old Thunderbird to begin with.

Although I will be jumping around from different blogs at times, I did want to focus on these mythical creatures. I wanted to do this because sometimes when I do write my regular blogs, some of these mythical and eerie creatures are mentioned.

Haunted Places: Yuma Territorial Prison

Hello Everyone,

I might have forgotten to mention that the haunted places I am currently doing all reside in Arizona. Maybe after a few more you might have guessed it for any of you who are locals. This week we are going to discuss another place that I have had the pleasure of visiting. The Yuma Territorial Prison.

A Good Location for a Prison:

Many of you familiar with the cities in Arizona, have most likely heard of Yuma. Bordering California it sits as far west as one can almost go in Arizona. Although many think of the sand dunes immediately when the think of Yuma there is other ecosystems there as well. Lush tributaries break off from the Colorado River providing good soil and water resources for farming.

Haunted Places: The Birdcage Theater

Hello Everyone,

It is time for me to start a new set of blogs on here and this one happens to be more haunted places. Or at least places that have some eerie history that gives them the potential to be haunted. However, most of them have some sort of story and are considered to be haunted. To start it out we are going to hear a little about one of my favorites that happens to be only an hour away. It’s a little building in the famous town of Tombstone called The Birdcage Theater.

Haunted Places: Greystone Park Psychiatric Center

Hello Everyone,

Well almost done. This haunted place and one more. This one I keep wanting to call “Castle of Greyskull” but I know the real name is Greystone Park Psychiatric Center. So hopefully that won’t confuse anyone, maybe I shouldn’t have put it out there like that but it was one my mind.

History of Greystone Park Psychiatric Center:

The construction started in 1871, in New Jersey, was completed in 1876. The building was originally designed to house 350 inmates but as we have seen in previous posts that’s not how it went. Greystone Park Psychiatric Center eventually housed over 7,000 inmates when it was at its peak.

The hospital itself was designed to help with the overflow of other hospitals and to relieve the overcrowding of them. The hospital was used in films and some other historical events. The hospital is no longer in operation ever since it Continue reading →
