Hello Everyone,

Since the last post was in Illinois I decided to keep it there while discussing this week’s haunted cemetery. Bachelors Grove Cemetery. The interesting thing about this cemetery that sets it aside from many of those I have been talking about is the size of it.

Bachelors Grove Cemetery:

The thick tree line makes the growing city of Chicago seem distant from the cemetery which adds to the secluded nature of the forgotten cemetery. At least forgotten for burials.

Only 82 plots are at the cemetery and many have never been filled. The cemetery started in 1840 and possibly even a few years earlier there were some burials in the same area. Perhaps the latest burials there, were rumored dumping of bodies by organized crime persons in the 1930s and 40s.

The cemetery which lies near the Rubio Woods Forest Preserve was founded by English homesteaders moving west Continue reading

Hello Everyone,

Well I know I said I was going to also focus on some other topics this month and I will. Don’t worry. But as I was looking through some information, trying to remember a few things, I stumbled upon a picture that reminded me of Greyfriars Kirkyard. As I opened the picture for a more detailed view, to my surprise it was. So here we are with some more information on a haunted cemetery.

A little about Greyfriars Kirkyard:

Okay, well first thing is, is that this cemetery is really old. It dates back with burials to the 16th century. That’s a lot of time for spirits to live in unrest if they were buried there with reasons to be in an unrest state of being.

The cemetery is located in Edinburgh, Scotland. This is a traditional style cemetery that also houses a church onsite that is, Continue reading

Hello Everyone,

To start things off I hope everyone is having a wonderful New Year and look forward to trying to better themselves not just every year but every day. Many people feel that New Year represents the start of a new life. A resurrection, or one’s ability to recondition themselves for a better outcome on life, a new start. So fitting that I chose to do this week’s blog on Resurrection Cemetery then, right?

Resurrection Cemetery:

Obviously there is a reasonable choice behind this particular cemetery and that is because it has a substantial amount of hauntings reported. The cemetery is located in Justice, Illinois. It holds over 152,000 graves and more crypts to add to that number of those buried there. It began as a place to bury the dead in 1904 and was officially opened in 1912. Although the cemetery has a lot of reason to have Continue reading

Hello Everyone,

Well another haunted place is here and once again it is a cemetery. Wanted to change it up a little bit so that’s why I chose to do one outside of America and Europe where it seems that many of the haunted places have been. La Recoleta is found in a little place called South America.

La Recoleta:

First off I know that South America is by no means small, just a little humor.

La Recoleta is more precisely situated in Buenos Aires, Argentina. Once again, not a small place at all. Buenos Aires is home to more than 2.9 million people and has a growing economy with tourism, industrial and commercial factors contributing. However, that is not what we are concentrating on. We want to hear about the cemetery, don’t we?

La Recoleta Cemetery is named for the neighborhood by the same name that it is located Continue reading

Hello Everyone,

As many of my southeastern Arizona followers know, Boot Hill is the famous cemetery just outside of Tombstone, Arizona. This cemetery is famous for its notable tombstones that share both humorous messages and also some eerie pasts.

What Boot Hill?

Well as it turns out, there are numerous “Boot Hill” cemeteries across the western parts of the United States of America. This is because it was a common saying for the burial grounds of gunfighters that were more prone to be living in these parts.

The term basically means that they died with their boots on.

Tombstone’s Boot Hill, a little History:

First off, the cemetery was not always in the location that we know it to be today. The cemetery was relocated to the current area in 1884 and is the resting place of over 250 people. This included everyone at the time. It could be the Continue reading
